When you dual boot Ubuntu 9.10 on XP,Vista or Windows 7, Linux resizes the boot record of Windows and Linux.After uninstalling Ubuntu,we may get Grub Error on system start up and unable to boot Windows

To solve grub boot loader error, insert your Windows installation CD or DVD and go to recovery mode.

For Windows XP users,

Press “R” to enter Windows Recovery Console

Choose the Windows version you want to fix “type 1″ for C:Windows

When it prompts for admin password,hit enter and type Fixboot .Reboot your system and check for grub error.

If fixboot doesn’t help type fixmbr at recovery console prompt and reboot your system.

Yes,if you are able to windows,Run chkdsk /f  on all your partitions
