Are you planning to buy the latest PC in the market? Worried about the price factor Laptop buyers Here are some suggestions.

If you are novice in computers,I suggest you to get a pre-configured PC from any branded company. Only disadvantage you might come across is that upgrade may be bit difficult. Useful Links.

You can get a assembled PC or custom made which allows you to highly customize based on your need for cheap price. On the other side you might face issues with after sales service. Here is a quick guide which gives you basic guidance/ tips for buying a PC. I wish to take you through a series of steps. First thing is to plan :

1.  Find the right specs based on your usage.

Buy a new computer based on usage( for General purpose user, Home Office, Home Theater Enthusiast, Gamer ). Always get more memory, a faster processor and more hard disk space than you need. This alone will save you the cost of a hardware upgrade in the future.

2.  Make a full list of your must-have programs.

Try to collect the list of required software for your PC as some of the software may require more disk space, greater RAM, greater processing speed (CPU), dedicated graphic memory (GPU), Sound card etc. This step has to be manipulated purely based on step 1.

3.  Finalize your budget

Decide your budget before approaching a supplier. I personally suggest you to quote your requirements to more than two dealers so that you can make a comparative study / review on available brands and their cost difference. If you’re not careful in this step, I am sure the dealers will burn your pockets for unwanted things.

Divide your total budget into 3 parts.

a) Cost of Cabin, SMPS, CPU, RAM, Hard Disk, CD/DVD drives.

b)Cost of Monitor (LCD/CRT), UPS, Keyboard, Mouse.

c) Cost of Web cam, Printer, Scanner, Speaker/Headphones separate table for your PC.. ,etc

4.  Additional accessories.

If you are computer enthusiast you may require more than a basic computer. Don’t forget to buy Pen drive(Minimum of 4GB), Portable HD for back up(Minimum 160GB), Media Player, Memory Card reader, Blue tooth, WiFi modem / router, Multimedia Speakers(Minimum 5.1).

Then, take this list with you when you go for shopping.

Important : These are few questions to be asked.

1.Check for ‘On-Site’ warranty if it’s affordable

2.Check out the company’s after-sales service for support

3.Are the technicians certified ? Does the company have a toll-free number for calling ?
